Meet the Disrict Superintendent The Rev. William B. Meekins, Jr. was
appointed as superintendent of the Greensburg District, July 1, 2006. Prior to this appointment
he served the Garden City UM congregation from 1998, served
as a full-time staff chaplain within the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare
System, and pastorates in Pittsburgh. He chaired the Board
of Ordained Ministry for the Western Pennsylvania Annual Conference,
and served in various capacities on other conference teams
and ministries.He holds a Masters of Divinity Degree from Gammon/Interdenominational Theological Center, located in Atlanta, Georgia. He also completed four units of Clinical Pastoral Education and is in the final phase of his pursuit of a Doctor of Ministry degree from Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky. He has an extensive international background which began in his mid-teens and continues to this day, with visits to twenty-eight countries, including most of Asia. He is married to Jeanette. |
